Have you ever thought why you are on earth. Yes you? You alone. Why are you living today? What is your purpose in the world. What is the purpose/ vision behind your life? Alternatively, do you already know it. Our existence in the world is a greater cause than ourselves.
The other day I was listing a number of things I wanted; financially, spiritually and emotionally. Strangely, I could only come up with a long list of financial things and meager things in the spiritual or emotional side. Happiness is only what featured. Thing is this happiness was to be caused by the financial things that I had listed on the other side. This got me thinking, suppose I really do achieve this financial freedom, what next. Will I really be satisfied with my life? Will my life have been worth living? When I die what people will say I was to them, to the society, how was my life. Will I be defined by who I was or what I did for a living?
Then I started thinking
1. What really does make me smile, genuinely, what makes me bellow with pleasure?
2. What really makes me feel great about myself, what do I do, or have done that makes me feel a sense of pride in myself?
3. Is there something I am really good at naturally, talents that I know of or have been told by people?
4. How I have used these above to make the society a better place, what has been my contribution, how have I served, what and whom have I helped?
5. When people ask for my help or opinion in something, what is it usually about and why?
6. The one thing that I really regret doing, just one, in the whole of my life.
7. Suppose I was supposed to teach people about just anything I wanted, what would I talk to them about?
8. Is there a cause I strongly believe in and advocate for?
9. What is my ideal life?
10. What am I doing to achieve the above?
We all know that one person we envy, we think they have it all and we wish we were like them. Do we also realize that there is someone else somewhere who wishes that they were us? Are we really so dissatisfied with ourselves that we want to be other people who may not really even like themselves?
What am trying to say is, right now, where you are living, what you are doing, are you satisfied with yourself, do you want more? What exactly is it that you want and why? Do you think your life is not perfect? Yes, there are perfect lives.
One’s purpose in life includes to have clear direction, clarity in your mind and heart, not swayed here and there by emotions and happenings. Having a driving force, a clear-cut definition of the flow you want your life to take. Having a vision of intent.
Most people are eager to learn about the new fad in society or new electronic gadgets rather than what they really want to be in life. I am out to find the purpose of my life and I want you to do too. Find what makes you a human being not just a human doing.
